'After Hours' is a part of the Don Powell Band Releases. When the pressure if off and the main version is completed we like to give the track a more relaxed feel and vibe, add new instruments, take some away and re-work a few licks and tricks. It gives us an opportunity to feature band members playing other instruments.
This features Jon Bates on Keyboards and Electric Guitar, Steve Whalley on Vocals and Slide Guitar, Craig Fenney Bass and Acoustic Guitar and of course Don Powell on Drums with everyone and Lola the Dog on Percussion!
The Don Powell Band had such a great time meeting everyone at 45Live in Kidderminster! All of you who were there were great performers. Thank you all for coming
Hopefully you will all be seen on the the video, you’ll definitely be heard on a version of the track, when it’s released! There a lot of work for us to do to get it ready, so release date will be announced soon, but expected release January 2025
The Don Powell Band
The legendary drummer from Slade Don Powell is now firmly back with his own Don Powell Band. This re-unites Don with musicians from the 1990's second lineup of Slade, vocalist Steve Whalley and bassist Craig Fenney
The band are now delighted to be joined by a new permanent member with keyboard player Jon Bates. Jon has previously been the producer on several DP Band Tracks He was responsible for production, editing and engineering the original track that was made during lockdown - Let There Be Drums All of the Artists who played on that were isolated in their own homes & studios due to Covid! It was a very tough ask for everyone to work on the project - especially Jon who joined up all the dots!
